The authors Stewart Portela - Sam Walton Stewart Portela has been an award winning public school teacher and coach for the past 24 years. Currently he teaches in Firth, Idaho. Stewart has been married to his wife Esther for 24 years and together they have three children: Dustin, age 22; Garret, age 21; and Caden, age 14. In 2005 he authored his first book titled *Heroes Among Us.* Sam Walton is currently retired from the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division and 25th Division. He comes from a long line of veterans. His grandfather, Darreld A. Walton, served in the 45th Division during the Korean War. His father, Darreld L. Walton, served as a member of the Strategic Air Command during the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Sam now resides in Pocatello, Idaho with his wife Heather and their three children.
